Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has appointed Alexander Montoya as president and Wilhelm Schaugg as head of strategy for its operations in the US, Bermuda and Latin America.
Montoya has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and prior to the new role was president of Liberty International Underwriters Latin America. Before joining Liberty in Mutual in 2014 he was CEO of AIG’s Colombia and Venezuelan operations, according to LinkedIn.
Schaugg moves into the strategy position from the role of head of commercial lines and reinsurance at Liberty Mutual’s Global Retail Markets East division.
Commenting on the appointments LSM managing director Matthew Moore said both underwriting executives would drive business growth and improve customer experience in the region.
