The carrier said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that Santana and van Kralingen will serve until their respective successor is elected and has qualified to serve.
The executives will be included as nominees for directors in Travelers’ 2022 proxy statement, subject to a shareholder vote at the company's 2022 annual shareholders meeting.
Santana was appointed as a member of the compensation, investment and capital markets and nominating and governance committees of the board, while van Kralingen was appointed to the audit and risk committees.
Santana serves as president and CEO of Wabtec Corporation. Before joining Wabtec in 2019, the executive worked for nearly two decades at General Electric, where he served as president of GE’s transportation business.
Van Kralingen joined International Business Machines Corp in 2004 and held different roles at the company, including senior vice president of global markets and sales, a position she held until her retirement.
The commercial lines carrier said in the SEC filing that both Santana and van Kralingen will receive a compensation package in accordance with its current director compensation program.
