The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has seized $2.3mn of bitcoin allegedly held by DarkSide, the hacking group that shut down Colonial Pipeline’s operation on the East Coast last month.

The FBI said the digital currency were proceeds of a May 8 ransom payment to members of the hacking group.
