InsurTech Kin posts $9.3mn operating loss for Q2 as GWP spikes 534% YoY

InsurTech Kin Insurance posted a Q2 operating loss of $9.3mn, more than double the loss of the prior-year period, although its gross profit grew nearly sixfold to $8.0mn compared with the same quarter last year.

The direct-to-consumer homeowners' insurer, which in July agreed to combine with special purpose acquisition company Omnichannel Acquisition Corp ahead of a public listing, reported total written premium of $26.7mn,
