AM Best gives E&S carrier Champlain A- financial strength rating

AM Best has assigned a financial strength rating of A- and a long-term issuer credit rating of a- to new US E&S carrier Champlain Specialty Insurance.

The ratings agency has also given the newly established excess and surplus carrier a stable credit rating outlook.

AM Best said its rating reflects Champlain’s balance-sheet strength, adequate operating performance, limited business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.
