Berkshire Hathaway’s Geico posted a 13.4-point increase in combined ratio in the first quarter of 2022 to 101.9%, highlighting the continued increased claims frequency and severity plaguing the personal auto segment.

Berkshire elaborated that Geico saw claims frequency increase across all coverages, while severity especially increased in property damage, collision and bodily injury coverages.
