Allstate updates 2022-23 reinsurance disclosure, Q1 cat insurance cost $144mn

Concurrent with its Q1 earnings release, Allstate updated its reinsurance disclosure for 2022 to 2023, revealing that its cat reinsurance total cost was $144mn for the quarter, compared to $113mn last year.

The company’s 2021 total reinsurance program cost $556mn.

The Nationwide program provides coverage up to $6.614bn of loss less a $500mn retention, compared to the prior-year quarter’s coverage of up to $5.763bn
