Insurance groups have called for an exclusion for reinsurance from incoming international tax changes designed to reflect the digital economy.

In 2021, 137 countries agreed to a 15% minimum tax and a reallocation of part of the largest multinational companies’ profits, with an exemption from the reallocation rules for regulated financial services.
