Embattled Floridian FedNat has filed for Chapter 11 protection in a bankruptcy court in the Southern District of Florida, as the insurer’s interim CEO David Patterson stepped down.

FedNat said GGG Partners managing partner Katie Goodman, who was appointed chief restructuring officer on September 30, will serve as principal executive officer, effective today.
