Premiums written by surplus lines carriers in Texas shot up 51.5% year-over-year to $1.04bn in November, the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas (SLTX) reported.

Year-to-date, E&S pricing in Texas increased 28.1% to $10.6bn, according to SLTX data.

Commercial fire/allied lines premiums rose 84.3% to $131.7mn,
