United Insurance Holdings’ stock dropped 46% today to $1.10 per share after the company hiked its gross losses from Hurricane Ian to $1.54bn from a preliminary estimate of $1bn.

The company also said it had fully exhausted its personal lines reinsurance cover on the event, rendering its personal lines carrier insolvent.
