April auto insurance prices rise to 15.5% as overall CPI slows to 4.9%

Motor vehicle insurance price increases accelerated to 15.5% in April from 15% the prior month, as the all-items Consumer Price Index (CPI) slightly moderated to 4.9% from 5% over the period.

The overall CPI rise last month was the smallest 12-month increase since the period ending April 2021.

The all-items index excluding food and energy prices rose to 5.5%
