Corebridge Financial executive vice president and COO Mia Tarpey will step down on July 1 to take on an undisclosed role with parent company AIG. Succeeding Tarpey immediately in both roles will be former Guardian EVP and head of group benefits Chris Smith.

Tarpey, formerly head of AIG’s separation management unit, joined Corebridge last August. A spinoff of AIG’s life and retirement (L&R) unit, Corebridge launched its IPO in September.
