Reinsurance capital rebounds $30bn in Q1: Aon

Aon estimated that reinsurance capital rebounded by 5%, or $30bn, to $605bn in Q1, with surging cat bond inflows and improved mark-to-market positions driving the gains.

It said ILS capital rose by 7%, or $7bn, to reach a new peak of $100bn by the end of Q1, with traditional equity capital rebounding 5%, or $23bn, to $505bn due to retained earnings and recovering asset values.
