Guy Carpenter chairman David Priebe has said casualty will become the focal discussion point for January 1, 2024 renewals, rather than property, as reinsurers revisit their forward looking views on loss trends following a “Covid period of uncertainty”.

The shift of focus also comes as reinsurers are relatively less concerned about their property books compared to last year, which they now perceive to be “fixed”, the executive added.
