Workers’ comp premiums rebound in 2022 on job and wage growth: AM Best

Workers’ compensation premiums have rebounded back to pre-pandemic levels driven by significant job and wage growth, with AM Best data showing 9% year-over-year increases in both direct premiums written (DPW) and net premiums written (NPW) in 2022.

According to a new AM Best report, the line’s DPW grew 4.7% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2023.
