Progressive halts months-long trend of adverse reserve development disclosures in July

For the first time in several months, Progressive disclosed no adverse development in its monthly commentary for July earnings.

In June, the Ohio-based carrier disclosed a $137.8mn, or 3.1-point reserve charge, compared to 4.6 points in May, primarily attributed to increases from the carrier’s actuarial review of its personal auto product.
