London-based (re)insurance intermediary United Insurance Brokers (UIB) is in late-stage discussions to acquire the Peruvian broker South Re in a bid to expand its operations across Latin America, this publication has learned.

The news comes two months after this publication revealed that UIB was exploring a takeover of the Lima-based aviation-focused reinsurance intermediary.
