Floir approves HCI’s TypTap to assume up to 25,000 Citizens homeowners’ policies

TypTap Insurance, a subsidiary of HCI Group, has received approval from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (Floir) to assume up to 25,000 policies from Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.

The assumption is being made under Florida’s legislatively mandated depopulation program, which is designed to encourage private companies to assume policies from Citizens.
