Global M&A activity increased by 16% in the third quarter of 2023, with 151 deals closed in the last three months compared to 130 deals in the previous quarter, according to WTW’s latest quarterly deal performance monitor.

However, the number of large M&A deals of over $1bn has continued its steady decline in volume since 2021, with just 32 transactions completed in Q3, compared to 50 deals in the same period last year.
