S&P Global Ratings has revised its outlook for AIG and its core P&C subsidiaries (excluding Validus Re) to stable from negative, citing its “significantly improved” underwriting performance.

The ratings agency also affirmed its BBB+/A-2 issuer credit rating and its A+ financial strength rating on AIG’s core P&C insurance entities, excluding Validus Re, whose sale to Renaissance Re is expected to close in Q4 this year.
