RenaissanceRe has completed its $3bn acquisition of Validus Re from AIG.

The deal, announced in late May, has RenRe taking over AIG’s treaty business, including AlphaCat Managers, and all renewal rights to Talbot’s assumed reinsurance treaty unit.
