Surplus lines premiums for December saw year-over-year gains in Texas, Florida and California – the top US states in the E&S and specialty market – with the average gain for the three at 26%, YoY. 

This is according to stamping office data.

California posted the largest percentage gain, with a 44.2% YoY jump in December premiums, at $1.3bn
