Texas Supreme Court ruling leaves Ercot legal immunity intact
Texas’ Supreme Court on Friday declined to overturn a decision shielding the state’s power grid manager, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (Ercot) from blackout-related claims.
The all-Republican court split five to four over the ruling, and found that a legal technicality prevented it from issuing a judgment relating to whether or not plaintiffs should be able to pursue the entity for damages.
