Last year offered no respite from the continuing escalation of liability loss cost trends, with juries continuing to award “nuclear” verdicts, according to a report from Chubb.

The insurer said the legal profession shifting to a virtual platform during the pandemic had “no meaningful impact” on the scale of jury awards, which continued to “skyrocket”.
