IMA Financial Group has bought rival independent broker Bolton & Company in a deal that is likely to propel the agency owner into a top-20 position in the US retail broking market.

The acquisition – the 10th the company has made in the last year – will bring IMA’s expected revenues up to $300mn and add 200 staff in California.
