Average annual insured losses from Atlantic hurricanes could increase by as much as 24% by the year 2050, according to the catastrophe loss modelling firm RMS.

The projection is taken from new climate change models that the firm will be releasing next month, and it assumes current exposures and the IPCC’s RCP 8.5
