The US Department of Justice has filed a suit in federal court seeking to block the merger between Aon and Willis Towers Watson in a move that could put the entire deal and previously announced divestitures in jeopardy.

In its complaint, the DoJ said allowing the deal to go through “would eliminate substantial head-to-head competition and likely lead to higher prices and less innovation, harming American businesses and their customers, employees, and retirees”.
