Last night, the Department of Justice (DoJ) dropped a thunderbolt on the insurance market by filing an antitrust suit against the Aon-Willis deal, arguing that it should be blocked in its entirety.

The move comes 15 months after the deal was initially agreed and has been filed despite a widely anticipated green light from hard-ball regulator the European Commission.
