The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has put a tropical storm warning in effect for the coast of South Carolina, where a tropical cyclone is expected to make landfall on Monday evening.

The NHC warned that a combination of storm surge and high tides could cause normally dry areas to be flooded when the storm lands.
