Accident and health managing general underwriter (MGU) AccuRisk has acquired Tandem Medical Solutions, a company that provides medical gap insurance products designed to reduce health-plan costs for employers and co-pay expenses for employees.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Resolution Reinsurance Intermediaries founded Tandem in 2016.

Tandem has a presence in 37 US states, underwriting and distributing medical gap insurance.
