Caldor Fire bears down on fire-prone buildings in South Lake Tahoe

In the wake of Hurricane Ida, which made landfall on Sunday in Louisiana, ranking as the fifth-worst hurricane to make landfall in US history, according to BMS’s Andrew Siffert, the industry is also tracking the Caldor Fire.

The fire is heading towards South Lake Tahoe, which, according to Anna Neely, a member of the analytics modeling and research team at TigerRisk, is an area with much “fire-prone” construction.
