Latin America’s ongoing fight with the Covid-19 pandemic has stalled its economic progress, even as the insurance industry remained resilient, according to Swiss Re’s Kaspar Mueller.

With case rates and deaths still high in many Latin American countries, the region has not managed to recover economically the way the US has in recent months, said Mueller, president of reinsurance for Latin America.
