United Fire Group says it will take $40mn in Q3 cats

Cedar Rapids-based regional carrier United Fire Group said on Thursday that it expects to record nearly $40mn in pre-tax catastrophe losses when it reports earnings next week.

The company says the losses came from 19 catastrophe events in the quarter, but most heavily impacted by Hurricane Ida.
