AM Best revises outlook on commercial property market to ‘stable’

AM Best has revised its outlook for the US commercial property market to “stable” from “negative”, based on the sector’s strong capitalization, ongoing rate increases and a decline in BI claims.

The ratings agency said the revision still recognized several challenging factors, in particular lingering uncertainty over climate-driven losses and secondary perils and concerns about economic inflation driving up construction costs, but that carriers have adapted to address these concerns.
