The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (Twia) has chosen to use Gallagher Re as its reinsurance broker for its upcoming purchase of reinsurance for the 2022 hurricane season.

During the 2021 cat season, Twia secured $1.9bn of reinsurance cover that, along with $2.1bn of statutory funding, brought the 2021 season’s catastrophe funding to $4.03bn,
