Private insurer takes over 30,000 policies from Louisiana’s insolvent carriers

A Louisiana-licensed insurer will acquire all policies from Access Home Insurance and State National Fire, two insolvent homeowners' insurance companies that were put into receivership in November by the Louisiana Department of Insurance (DOI).

In a statement, Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon said the DOI approved the transaction today but did not disclose the identity of the insurer that will buy the 30,000 policies.
