APCIA: Ban on credit-based insurance scores is hurting Washington consumers

The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) has said that the Washington state regulator’s permanent rule to ban the use of credit-based insurance scores for three years is turning the Washington insurance market into “chaos.”

In a statement regarding the Washington Office of the Insurance Commissioner’s (OIC) adoption of the ban, the APCIA said: “Commissioner Kreidler’s actions including this rule to prohibit insurers use of credit-based insurance scores will continue to throw Washington insurance...
