SiriusPoint Q4 CR improves 29 points to 95.3% on reinsurance enhancement

Bermudian (re)insurer SiriusPoint swung back to profitability during the last quarter of 2021 as the carrier’s combined ratio dropped 29 points to 95.3%, driven by improvements on its reinsurance division losses.

The reinsurance business’s combined ratio plummeted to 91.2% from 129.4%, outweighing the increase in the insurance services combined ratio to 98% from 55.5%.
