US retailer Brown & Brown (B&B) has secured exclusivity with Global Risk Partners (GRP) owner Searchlight in talks to buy the broker consolidator, this publication understands.

The development means that US private equity house TA Associates, the other potential suitor for GRP, is now out of the race to buy the £1.8bn
