Walgreens sues AIG, Berkshire, Liberty, other insurers in $1bn+ opioid damages case

Number two retail pharmacy chain Walgreens has named subsidiaries of AIG, Berkshire Hathaway, Liberty Mutual, Axa XL, Aspen and Starr among the 25 defendants in a lawsuit accusing the insurers of denying liability coverage associated with the retailer’s involvement in the opioid crisis.

Other defendants in the complaint include Sompo entity Endurance, Great American Insurance, Ironshore, Ace American Insurance and TIG Insurance.
