Bankers Insurance files notice to exit homeowners and fire lines in Florida

Bankers has submitted a notice to the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (Floir) stating the carrier will exit its homeowners and dwelling fire lines in Florida.

The carrier cited "unprecedented reinsurance costs," inadequate legislative measures, fraud and litigation.

Bankers added: "Bankers remains financially sound and committed to all Commercial Lines, Builders Risk, HO4, and Flood in the state."
