Hippo has announced that John Nichols Jr is joining the company's board of directors after serving as interim CEO and chairman of the board at Protective Insurance.

At Protective, he oversaw the acquisition of the company by Progressive Insurance Company.

Prior to that, Nichols was the CEO of Axis Reinsurance and held various roles, including president, during a 15-year stint at RenaissanceRe Ventures.
