Florida’s DeSantis paves way for $1.5mn extra budget for new ratings agency

Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis has recommended approval of $1.5mn in additional budget for the Department for Financial Services (DFS) to support the development of an alternative financial ratings agency to Demotech.

The state’s legislative budget commission will meet on Friday, 9 September to consider the financial outlook for the fiscal years 2023-24 through 2025-26.
