Renewables will generate $237bn of premium by 2035: Swiss Re

Investments in green energy are set to generate cumulative insurance premiums of $237bn by 2035 as countries look to transition away from fossil fuels, Swiss Re has estimated.

The carrier said in its Sigma report that constructing and operating renewable energy infrastructure posed inherent and complex risks, which needed to be insured, offering an income opportunity for the insurance industry.
