AM Best: Brazilian reinsurers grew NWP by 16% in 2021

Brazilian reinsurers grew net written premium (NWP) by 16%, and premium retention last year rose to 48% from 44%, AM Best reported.

AM Best noted that the growth in written premiums is contributing to the increase in underwriting leverage of 104% in 2021, up from 78% in 2020.
