Bermuda-based (re)insurer SiriusPoint has sued its former chief actuary and chief risk officer Jeffrey Davis, alleging breach of contract arising out of the executive’s refusal to repay a $400,000 retention bonus he was “obligated to repay” after resigning voluntarily.

The carrier argued it paid the executive the first installment of a $400,000 retention award in March 2020 and the second half in March 2021.
