Hurricane Ian track moves south of Tampa

Hurricane Ian’s trajectory has shifted south to put its projected potential landfall between Sarasota and Port Charlotte, Florida, rather than near Tampa, according to the latest National Hurricane Center (NHC) update.

The NHC’s 11:00 EDT forecast also brought additional hurricane, storm surge and tropical storm watches and warnings as Ian draws closer to the west coast of Florida.
