AM Best has withdrawn EMC Reinsurance Company's credit ratings at the request of company management.

In tandem, the ratings agency downgraded EMC Re's financial strength rating to B++ (Good) from A (Excellent) and its long-term issuer credit rating to "bbb+" (Good) from "a" (Excellent).
