The Hartford's combined ratio improved by 2.8 points to 97.7% in Q3, despite booking $214mn of Hurricane Ian-related losses.

The carrier reported total pre-tax catastrophe losses of $293mn for the quarter – lower than the $300mn reported in Q3 2021.
